SAMARITAN KEEP HOME WELCOMES NEW ADMINISTRATOR

Watertown, New York ----- Thomas H. Carman, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Peter Walton, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Samaritan Keep Home, are pleased to announce the appointment of Richard A. Brooks as Administrator for Samaritan Keep Home. Mr. Brooks has been serving as interim administrator since October 12, 2005.

“We are extremely pleased that Mr. Brooks has accepted this position at Samaritan Keep Home,” stated Thomas H. Carman, President and CEO of Samaritan Medical Center and Samaritan Keep Home. “He is an experienced healthcare administrator, including both long-term care and hospital operations. Additionally, he possesses the knowledge of and commitment to Samaritan and to the community, both of which are critical to his role."

Mr. Brooks served as Samaritan Keep Home Administrator from 1996-1998. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Support Services and Community Development, which included his responsibilities as Executive Director of the Samaritan Foundation of Northern New York, Inc.
With the addition of his responsibilities as Samaritan Keep Home Administrator, Mr. Brooks now assumes the title of Vice President of Long Term Care and Support Services. Though he will remain actively involved with the Samaritan Foundation of Northern New York, Mr. Brooks will no longer serve as its Executive Director. A search for a new Executive Director will begin immediately.

“Though it is difficult to relinquish my role with the Foundation, I will remain actively involved with the Foundation Board and with our generous supporters. I am looking forward to working with the staff and residents at Samaritan Keep Home on a permanent basis, while continuing to work with the support services staff at Samaritan Medical Center,” explains Mr. Brooks. “This new reporting structure will enable Samaritan to more fully integrate services between the two facilities. I also am looking forward to completing the Facility Master Plan study in 2006.”
