SAMARITAN FOUNDATION WELCOMES NEW INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Watertown, Watertown, New York ----- Thomas H. Carman, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Addison F. Vars III, President of the Board of Directors of the Samaritan Foundation of Northern New York, Inc., are pleased to announce the appointment of Patricia I. Tague as Interim Executive Director.

Since 1999, Mrs. Tague has been actively involved with the Samaritan Foundation as a key volunteer, overseeing events, such as the Thousand Islands Golf Classic and the Festival of Trees. She was a member of the Community Support Committee and most recently held the office of Vice President. Additionally, Mrs. Tague served on the Samaritan Medical Center Board of Trustees for 12 years, serving as Chairman of the Board in 1999.

“Tricia’s commitment to the availability of quality healthcare in the North Country has been demonstrated by the energy and countless volunteer hours that she has contributed to Samaritan over the past several years,” states Mr. Vars. “Her experience and dedication to healthcare, as well as her knowledge of the local community, made her an excellent choice to serve in this interim role while our search for a permanent Executive Director continues.”

The Samaritan Foundation began the search for a new Executive Director when its former director, Richard A. Brooks, became Vice President of Long-Term Care and Support Services.

“Tricia’s leadership will be instrumental during this exciting time as we plan for Samaritan’s future. With the anticipated scope of our future expansion, the Samaritan Foundation will lead our capital campaign efforts, as we turn to North Country residents and businesses to help expand and renovate their community hospital,” concluded Mr. Carman. “Tricia’s interim appointment will enable Richard Brooks to focus on his responsibilities as Administrator of Samaritan Keep Home, as well as overseeing the development of a Facility Master Plan.”

Mrs. Tague holds a Bachelor of Science degree in speech pathology and audiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She and her husband Rick reside on Wellesley Island. They have two children: Stewart, a junior at Clarkson and Lindsay, a sophomore at Johns Hopkins.
