Lake Ontario is so beautiful so is the St Lawrence River. Plenty of outdoors things to do, like hiking and seeing different parts of this beautiful area.

Favorite thing about the Residency Program at Samaritan:
There is so much to say here, Dr. Rechlin is the best program director ever and also the best DME. He listens and actually helps the residents to succeed. Also the Chief Aaron Campbell who helps us with knowledge organizes great residency outings. I went skeet shooting for the first time ever and even though I never shot a gun in my life I had so much fun with going as a group and doing a residency building opportunity. The residents and residency are very supportive of one another. The program is very conducive to learning and to becoming an excellent physician. You make what you want here but for me this is the best program I can ask for. I truly cannot say how much I am happy to be here. Some programs are malignant this is NOT. This program actually is very humane and you learn a lot. If you want a program that you have to take charge which I love this is it.

Favorite Thing about Residency at Samaritan:
The people! I have never worked in a place with such kind, and caring staff as at Samaritan. Here at Samaritan, residents are not only an integral part of the treatment team, but you are a RESPECTED member of the treatment team. Also, being unopposed residencies at such a small resource hospital that serves such a large geographical area, prepares you for no matter what niche in medicine you may find down the road.

After I graduated from Boston College, I stayed in Boston and worked as a paralegal for a year at a great law firm called Barron and Stadfeld while I tried to talk myself into going to law school. I packed up my life in my Toyota Tercel and drove cross country to move to San Diego in 2001. Interests:
Soccer, running, cross country skiing, spending time with my growing family and amazing husband.

Favorite Thing about the Area:
My family is here! I love to spend time sailing with Dr. Johnson and Dr. Maynard on Lake Ontario. I love Sackets Harbor and going on weekend trips to Toronto, the Adirondacks, Boston and NYC to watch the Yankees play!

Favorite Thing about Samaritan:
I have had the pleasure of working at Samaritan now for several years. I worked as a Unit Clerk in the Emergency Room prior to starting medical school. I was able to do my 3rd and 4th year clinical rotations here as well while I was still in Medical School. Now that I am a resident, I have a unique perspective about how everyone works together to take care of our patients. You will not find more genuine, hardworking people anywhere else in medicine as you will find at Samaritan.
