YOUR ROOM

  • Telephones: For your convenience, telephones are available in most adult rooms. Telephones in these rooms allow in-house and local calling only. Long distance calls may be made by dialing 9 then 0 and then the number including area code. The call then can be billed to a third number, made collect, or billed to a credit card/calling card. Some long distance carriers assess a surcharge for this service. Long-distance calling cards are also available in the vending area on the ground floor near the cafeteria.
For relatives and friends who live out of the local calling area, Samaritan offers the following toll-free number: 1-877-888-6138. These calls will reach the switchboard operator who will connect the caller to most patient rooms. Samaritan Medical Center prohibits the use of cellular telephones and other radio frequency (two-way) devices within three feet of electronic patient care equipment. Please maintain a safe distance from this equipment while using such devices, so as to avoid electronic interference.

  • Televisions: television service is available for your room at a cost of $5 per day or $25 per week and can be requested at the time of your admission. Portable televisions are not allowed, because most are not properly grounded and may interfere with hospital equipment. If you are discharged earlier than anticipated, you will be refunded for the days that service is not used.
