A Message from the Director

Dr. David W. Towle, DME

Dear Prospective Student:

Thank you for your interest in Samaritan Medical Center's postgraduate Osteopathic training programs.

Samaritan's Osteopathic programs were specifically sought out, actively developed and are nurtured and supported wholeheartedly by Senior Management.  We are proud to offer programs built on years of experience and supported to the fullest extent possible out of the love of education.

Samaritan Medical Center has given over a century of service to New York's North Country and the Thousand Islands Region.  Samaritan is a community medical center, and serves a wonderfully diverse patient population.  The creation of two Osteopathic Residency Programs at Samaritan has been a natural progressive step into a great future.

We will continue to offer direct one-on-one educational offerings.  Just imagine a program where the primary focus is you, the adult learner, not on mundane scut work and unappreciated services.  We are living proof that you can be a great D.O. without being abused in the process.

If you have what it takes to join a great group as it evolves, a personal desire to learn, are self-motivated, and have a quest for excellence, we encourage you to come and explore all of the great things now being offered by Samaritan.  We invite you to see for yourself that education can be both professionally valuable and enjoyable; that Residents can be both students and colleagues; and that professional teamwork is alive and well in New York's North Country!

Your medical school has made you "medically smart;" your Residency program will make you "great" as a practitioner of our Osteopathic arts.  Choose a program that best matches your learning style, your future needs, your professional goals, and your lifestyle interests.  We hope your choice will be Samaritan Medical Center.

Yours in Osteopathic Education,

David W. Towle, D.O., M.P.H.
