Today’s Joint Replacement Surgeries
Hip and knee replacements were first performed in the early 1960s. Since then, improvements in surgical techniques and technology have greatly increased the effectiveness of these surgeries. Today, surgeons make smaller incisions, the materials used to make artificial joints are more durable and resistant to wear, and patients recover from the procedure more quickly. At Samaritan, our physicians perform knee, hip, shoulder and finger joint replacements.
