Care Levels FAQs

Q: How assisted is Assisted Living?
A: Assisted living communities are designed to provide residents with assistance with basic ADLs (activities of daily living) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and more. Assisted living residents are usually seniors who have had a slight decline in health in some way and need assistance performing one or more activities of daily living (ADLs).

Q: What the specific levels of care being offered?
A: Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living Program beds and Enhanced Assisted Living beds

Q: How many beds are going to be in each level of care?
A: 168 Skilled Nursing, 100 Assisted Living and 20 Enhanced Assisted Living

Q: Will there be help for when residents get sick?
A: Samaritan Summit Village offers a full spectrum of services for our residents.

Q: What is the difference between Enhanced and Assisted Living?
A: Assisted living communities are designed to provide residents with assistance with basic ADLs (activities of daily living) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and more. Assisted living residents are usually seniors who have had a slight decline in health in some way and need assistance performing one or more activities of daily living (ADLs).

Enhanced Assisted Living provides a more advanced level of care to serve people who wish to remain in their residence as they begin to have age related difficulties. With private funds, the resident is able to add services that are not available to assisted living residents.


Cost/Payment FAQs

Q: Does my Long Term Care insurance cover care at the Samaritan Summit Village?
A: Coverage depends on each individual policy. Please check with your financial advisor

Q: Prices?
A: Exact pricing has not yet been set. Skilled Nursing care will be the most expensive.

Q: Does Medicaid cover what is left after Social Security?
A: If you are Medicaid eligible and accepted, Medicaid will cover the costs for the 168 skilled beds and 80 of the Assisted Living beds. The 20 Enhanced Assisted Living and 20 of the Assisted Living beds are private pay only.


Accommodation FAQs

Q: Can I bring my cat?
A: At this time we are not allowing pets to live with the residents. Pet visits are allowed.

Q: Is there a kitchenette in each room?
A: There are kitchenettes in the assisted living area sections of the facility that include a refrigerator, a sink and cupboards for storage

Q: Can I bring in a toaster oven?
A: Per regulations, toaster ovens are not permitted.

Q: Can you bring your own furniture?
A: The rooms are configured with a living area, a sleeping area and a bath. Personal furniture is allowed.

Q: How are the rooms set up? Are they set up like apartments?
A: The Assisted Living dwellings are configured with a living area, a sleeping area, kitchenette and a bath. Personal furniture is allowed.

Q: Can I smoke at the Summit Village?
A: No – All Samaritan locations are located on smoke-free campuses.

Q: Is there public transportation available?
A: We are currently in discussions with public transportation to investigate our options.


Application/Move In Process

Q: When are you accepting residents?
A: Applications are now available and should be submitted as soon as possible

Q: Is there a waiting list?
A: There are many community members who have expressed interest at this point and are on a list to receive more information as it is developed. Final bed determinations have not been made at this point. The closure and move of all Mercy and Whispering Pines residents will be first step.

Q: Will the applications be mailed to non-attendees?
A: Future mailings, including applications will continue for those who have expressed interest.

Q; Will there be room preferences allowed (view, floor level)?
A: We generally do not give room preference during the admission process
