Listeners of The Border's 106.7 morning show host Johnny Spezzano, and 94 Rock's Lance Hale responded in a huge way to this year's CMN Radiothon, raising $147,575 to benefit Children's Miracle Network of Northern New York at Samaritan. Johnny, Lance and the rest of the Community Broadcasters team spent three days asking the North Country to make a donation to help sick and injured children right here in our own community.
More than 630 of the radio stations listening audience called to make a donation throughout the three days, in response to the stories being shared by patients and families. They were a great part of the success of this Radiothon – and 100% of those donations will stay in our local community to benefit the health of children in Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties.
As one of the last major fundraisers of the year, the Radiothon helped CMN go over its projected annual goal. Also, thanks to businesses like, Kinney Drugs who donated $100,000 and Walmart with a donation of over $65,000, CMN is on track to reach an overall 2012 Campaign goal of over $380,000 dollars raised. CMN could not have reached this goal without the generous support of many businesses and individuals in our community. Additional, this broadcast event was made possible by Jreck Subs, Peebles Realty, Eagles Beverage, Party Rentals, AAMCO, CiCi's Pizza Buffet, Savory Downtown, Kinney Drugs Foundation, Walmart/Sam's Club and Foresters.
Samaritan Medical Center has been a proud affiliate of Children's Miracle Network since 1990. The hospital's efforts on behalf of thousands of children throughout Northern New York has increased the availability of high quality healthcare and improved the chances for happier and healthier futures for local children.
